HEIC and SVG are read-only: HEIC has no royalty-free browser encoder, and SVG is a vector format that is rasterised on the way in rather than written back out.

Frequently asked questions
Which input format converts to which output format?
Any of the 11 supported inputs (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, ICO, PDF, SVG) can be written to any of the 9 supported outputs (JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, AVIF, TIFF, ICO, PDF). HEIC and SVG are read-only — they decode but cannot be written back.
Which output format should I choose?
JPG for photographs and maximum compatibility. PNG when you need transparency or lossless text and line art. WebP or AVIF for the web, where they are 25–50% smaller than JPG. PDF for printing and archiving. ICO for favicons.
Does converting lose quality?
Converting to a lossless format (PNG, BMP, TIFF) preserves every pixel. Converting to JPG, WebP, or AVIF re-encodes with lossy compression — the default quality of 92 is visually indistinguishable for most photographs. Repeatedly re-saving a lossy format compounds the loss, so convert from the original where possible.
What happens to EXIF data and transparency?
Orientation is applied so photos are never sideways. When converting a transparent PNG, WebP, or GIF to JPG — which has no alpha channel — transparent areas are filled with white by default; you can change that colour in Advanced settings.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 10 files per batch, each with its own output format if you want. Finished files download individually or together as a ZIP.
